“The greatest strengths were the direction, which had real vision, included some inventive staging, and created a strong sense of the conflict that serves as the foundation for this musical, and the choreography, which did so much to expand the emotional quality of what was felt on both the sides of the Puerto Ricans and the Americans. The dance work was really ambitious, but it was also executed with tremendous energy and finesse by everyone in the cast.”
